LUGTONS WAIPA FUN RUN 2022 CANCELLATION.
NEW DATE: SUNDAY, 5TH MARCH 2023
It is with great disappointment that we must announce the cancellation of the 2022 Lugtons Waipa Fun Run due to the ongoing disruption and uncertainty caused by Covid 19, and in particular the Omicron strain.
An outbreak of Omicron in our community would make it very difficult to run the races safely and any change in the protection framework would simply mean we would be unable to run our event at all.
The safety and protection of our community is our main priority, especially those who are more vulnerable and the large number of young families who participate in the Fun Run each year.
We are extremely grateful for the support that we have received from the community over the past 10 years and look forward to seeing you again for our eleventh Waipa Fun Run on Sunday 5th March, 2023.

Covid-19
With the new Covid framework and traffic light system in place, if events are to successfully run moving forward, all large-scale events such as ours are mandated to allow only vaccinated participants, contractors, and volunteers to be part of the event. We fully respect that everyone has the right to choose to be vaccinated or not, but to be able to run events with over one hundred people in our current orange setting, we can only allow people who have been double vaccinated to participate in order to deliver Lugtons Waipa Fun Run to you. We will need to sight your vaccine pass. Further details on how this procedure will work, will be updated early February.

Changes in society have meant many children are now exposed to an increasing range of issues, including bullying, abuse, and family issues among others. Children often do not have the skills to deal with these issues.
Lifeskills aims to offer counselling, support and encouragement so that children/young people are more able to work through these issues.
